Two new books, Deadly Choices: How the Anti-vaccine Movement Threatens Us All and The Panic Virus: A True Story of Medicine, Science and Fear, examine the pseudoscience that created a controversy over vaccine safety. Dr. David Gorski, a surgical oncologist, offers a review on Science-Based Medicine.

Andrew Wakefield's 1998 study linking autism to the MMR vaccine continues to be dismantled. Journalist Brian Deer of BMJ compares the reported diagnoses in Wakefield's study to the hospital records finding that Wakefield and colleagues 'altered facts about patients in their study.
