HUMAN RESEARCH PROTECTIONS GROUP PLANS JULY WORKSHOP

Although the charter for the National Human Research Protection Advisory Committee (NHRPAC) has expired, its Social and Behavioral Science (SBS) Working Group is moving forward with plans for a July 2003 workshop. The workshop will focus on institutional research board "best practices" for reviewing social and behavioral science protocols.

The SBS Working Group is seeking nominations for workshop participants who have substantial expertise in the area and have served as institutional research board chairs. If you would like to nominate someone with those qualifications, you can send the nominee's name, affiliation and areas of research expertise and experience to Felice Levine (flevine@aera.net) by Jan. 13.

Other questions about the workshop, the SBS Working Group or NHRPAC? You can also call Felice Levine at (202) 223-9485 or contact Paula Skedsvold, senior staff for the SBS Working Group, at pskedsvold@peoplepc.com or (301) 984-4310.
