HABIT

May 28, 2002 Vol. 5 No. 5

Dear Colleagues,

The many reports, articles and opportunities highlighted in HABIT over the last year prove that your efforts to gain recognition for the health-behavior connection are paying off. Each one highlights the importance of behavior in solving the health problems that our nation faces, whether that behavior is exhibited by individuals, professionals, decision makers or institutions.

Our sense is that the priority and resources directed to health behavior will only increase in the coming months. Already there are so many opportunities that HABIT, even with its Web-based back-up, can't triage all the information for its readers. We plan to use the summer break to implement a more strategic approach to getting you the information you need about funding opportunities, new resources, and ways to add your voice to policy decisions that affect the field of health behavior research and practice.

Your next issue of HABIT will arrive on August 27. We'll continue to update the Web-based portion of HABIT, so until then, visit www.cfah.org for the latest information on funding opportunities, career opportunities, conferences and calls for submissions.

Best wishes for a warm / calm / relaxing / fun / interesting summer --

Jessie Gruman, PhD
