HABIT

Feburuary 25, 2003

Vol. 6 No. 2

Dear Colleagues,

Research focused on social and behavioral factors got a big vote of confidence at the AAAS annual meeting in February by neuroscientist and physician Floyd Bloom, who identified such research as the best way to approach the "puzzles of better health promotion." Bloom’s speech at the conference touched on many of the issues that occupy HABIT readers, including health behavior, access to care and translation.

Social and behavioral science will go a long way toward repairing what's wrong with American health care, Bloom told his audience, and we couldn't agree more. I know you'll join us in offering your expertise and passion to the ongoing debate on health care reform, especially as biobehavioral research increases its national profile.

Thanks again for reading,

Cheers --
