Vol. 6 No. 8

Dear Colleagues,

August, normally a slow month in Washington, D.C., saw the release of a National Academy of Sciences report that could have been the sleeper hit of the summer.

The minor structural changes recommended in the report may encourage more interdisciplinary work inside NIH. But the report makes little mention of enhancing other key relationships — between federal agencies and the private sector, for example — that would further the goal of transforming knowledge into useful tools to improve health.

Thanks again for reading, and a special welcome to our many new subscribers. We hope you find HABIT to be a useful resource in the busy days ahead.

Cheers --
