Center for Advancing Health Receives Exceptional Rating by Charity Navigator for Third Consecutive Year

America’s Most Trusted Evaluator of Charities Awards a 4-Star Rating to the Center for Advancing Health

WASHINGTON — May 17, 2010, The Center for Advancing Health (CFAH), a non-profit research and policy institute, announced today that it has received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for the third consecutive year. Since its founding 18 years ago, CFAH has advocated for policies and practices that support Americans’ ability to participate in the health care available to them in order to benefit optimally from it. CFAH is a Washington-DC based nonpartisan institute, supported by the Annenberg Foundation and the W.K. Kellogg foundation, as well as individuals and other organizations.

“We are very grateful for every contribution that our organization receives,” said Jessie Gruman, PhD, founder and president of CFAH. “With this year’s passage of health reform legislation, many assume that the work has been done. But until we have an American health care system that encourages people to participate actively and knowledgably in their care, there will be work to do. Our generous funders make that work possible.”

Charity Navigator was founded in 2001 to help charitable individuals and organizations make intelligent giving decisions. It provides donors with information about the financial health of more than 5,000 organizations each year and has become the most widely utilized evaluator of charities in the country. Charity Navigator makes its evaluations easy to understand and available for free on its website, www.charitynavigator.org. View CFAH’s evaluation on the Charity Navigator website.
